Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) — screening for healthy embryos right at the source.
PGT-A (Aneuploidy Screening)
Checks chromosome number
Detects whether the embryo's 23 pairs of chromosomes have an extra or missing chromosome (e.g., Trisomy 21). Most beneficial for advanced maternal age, recurrent miscarriage, and repeated implantation failure; euploid embryos are prioritized for transfer.
PGT-M (Monogenic Disease Testing)
Screens for monogenic disorders
Targeted testing for known pathogenic mutations such as thalassemia, SMA, hemophilia, and cystic fibrosis, to select disease-free embryos; a family pre-test is required in advance.
PGT-SR (Structural Rearrangement Testing)
Checks translocation / inversion
For couples where one partner is a carrier of structural abnormalities such as balanced translocation or inversion; selects embryos with balanced or normal chromosome structure, lowering the risk of miscarriage.
NGS High-Throughput Sequencing
Testing Platform
The current mainstream sequencing platform — covers all 23 chromosome pairs with high resolution and a low false-negative rate, forming the basis for accurate PGT-A/M/SR results.
Blastocyst Trophectoderm Biopsy
Sampling Method
A few cells are taken from the outer layer of a day 5–6 blastocyst (which becomes the placenta), not the fetal cells themselves; with professional handling the impact on the embryo is minimal.
Vitrification
Embryo Freezing
Ultra-rapid freezing of healthy biopsied blastocysts yields a high thaw survival rate, allowing batched transfers and on-demand thawing while awaiting optimal endometrial and maternal condition.
ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Analysis)
Implantation Window
Uses endometrial gene expression to locate the individualized implantation window — especially critical for repeated implantation failure, avoiding the “good embryo, wrong timing“ pitfall.
IMSI (High-Magnification Sperm Selection)
Sperm Quality
Sperm with normal morphology and fewer vacuoles are selected under a >6000× high-magnification microscope, used in ICSI for severe male factor (oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia, high DFI) to reduce fertilization abnormalities and impaired embryonic developmental potential.
